British espionage in 18th-century Italy.

I'm interested in espionage, diplomacy, and the circulation of cultural and political knowledge in 18th-century Europe.
I previously held a number of archival and library appointments in Italy.

My research interests also include book and archival history between the Middle Ages and the early modern period.
I have presented my work at international conferences and seminars, including at the Institute of Historical Research of London, the Society of Antiquaries of London, the University of Lisbon, and the Swedish Institute of Classical Studies in Rome.
My research has been supported by a number of competitive scholarships and grants, including the Scatcherd European Scholarship and funding from the Etruscan Academy of Cortona and the Petrarch Academy of Arezzo. I have also received academic prizes, including the “Aurelio Marcantoni” awards for both my BA and MA dissertations and the “Paolo Giovacchini” Prize for scientific research.
