About the role

This is an exciting new role within an IT Team providing a wide range of IT services to academic and administrative staff in locations in central Oxford in support of cutting-edge research and world class teaching. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will be responsible for developing, delivering and supporting the technologies which underpin our services. There will be the opportunity for hybrid working (i.e. on-site and remote working) with this role.

The IT Infrastructure Officer will be responsible for the management, deployment, and maintenance of IT infrastructure in the Faculty of History, the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages and the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics, within the Humanities Division. This is a new role, looking to focus on convergence of existing technologies and creation of shared services across the faculties supporting both teaching, long-term research projects, as well as day-to-day operations.

This role is responsible for managing IT infrastructure systems, and managing all faculty computers on Linux, Windows and Mac platforms. The role also includes being part of the local IT team providing day-to-day IT support. This is a full-time, permanent role.

The successful candidate will also become a member of the Humanities IT team in which you will learn from, and collaborate with other team members. You will also benefit from the opportunity to undertake industry-recognised training and pursue your own continual personal development.
