Merridee Bailey awarded the S. Ernest Sprott Fellowship

Merridee Bailey, (Associate Member of the History Faculty) has been awarded the S. Ernest Sprott Fellowship for her project leading to a book on the history of meekness. It is supported by the University of Melbourne and she will be holding the award at the Faculty of History, Oxford.

The S. Ernest Sprott Fellowship is open for award annually to an outstanding scholar, who must be an Australian citizen of no more than 45 years of age at the time of the award. The Fellowship is for scholarly study outside Australia, intended to lead to a book relating to dramatic or non-dramatic English literature of the 16th or 17th centuries.
