The role of the media in the politicisation of West Germany, 1948-1990
My research interests include 20th century German and international history, the Cold War, cultural and public diplomacy, journalism and, more generally, the relationship between politics, culture, and the media.
I graduated from University College Utrecht with a BA in History, Latin, and Journalism. Before moving to Oxford, I received an MA and MSc in International and World History from Columbia University and the London School of Economics and Political Science. My master's thesis examined the politicisation of stern magazine, challenging the historical consensus of the 'unpolitical 1950s' in West Germany.
