Sir Christopher Clark is Regius Professor of History at the University of Cambridge. He is best known as author of Iron
Kingdom: The Rise and Downfall of Prussia 1600-1947, which won the Wolfson History Prize, and of Sleepwalkers: How
Europe went to War in 1914. He is the editor of Culture-Wars: Secular-Catholic conflict in Nineteenth Century Europe.
Professor Clark has a longstanding interest in international Protestantism, state-church relations and the Christian mission
to the Jews, which was the subject of his first book The Politics of Conversion. Missionary Protestantism and the Jews in
Prussia 1728-1941.
