‘Accommodation and its Limits: Alien Craftsmen and London’s Livery Companies, c. 1500–1600.’

My doctoral research traces how London's livery companies accommodated alien craftsmen in the sixteenth century, primarily using the Goldsmiths' and Brewers' Companies alongside Crown and probate sources. It asks what forms that accommodation took, and where its limits lay.
