Research Topic
I am a DPhil student in History at Nuffield College, Oxford. I have completed my B.A in History and my M.A. in History at the University of Montreal. My research project will focus on the colonial experiences of refugees during World War II in the British Empire following the Japanese invasion of Southeast Asia. It aims to contribute to research on the ties between imperialism, colonialism, and human rights and proposes, in particular, to undertake a more comprehensive and discerning analysis of the displacement of persons during World War II to understand how such refugee movements underpinned the development of human rights and international relief.
My doctoral studies at Oxford will be under the supervision of Prof. Andrew Thompson and are co-funded by the Open-Oxford-Cambridge AHRC DTP and the Clarendon Fund Scholarship.
