Leyre Santos is a DPhil candidate in History at the University of Oxford (Hertford College). Her thesis explores the radicalization processes of terrorists in Northern Ireland and the Basque Country. Her doctoral research is funded by Fundación Ramón Areces. Leyre holds an MA in History and Politics from Columbia University, funded by La Caixa Foundation Fellowship. Previously, she read History and Journalism at the University of Navarra. Following her graduation, she worked in New York as a U.S. correspondent for Cadena SER, Spain’s leading radio station. She specializes in 20th-century history, focusing on the Cold War, democracy, and political violence.
