David Carpenter

His current research interests centre on detailed analysis of the texts of English charters and deeds. Determining authenticity or forgery is an important part of this. Associated interests are resolving problems of 12th and 13th century chronology and prosopography, medieval cartularies, and the work of late 16th and 17th century antiquaries, in particular Roger Dodsworth.
