Research Interests

Bryan Ward-Perkins, who trained as both a historian and an archaeologist, researches on Late Antiquity (circa AD 300-750), primarily in the Mediterranean region, and is Chair of Oxford's research 'Centre for Late Antiquity'. He has published mainly on urban and economic history, and was a joint editor of the final volume of the "Cambridge Ancient History" (covering the period 425 to 600). He is happy to supervise widely within the period circa 250-800.
