Research Interests

Dr de Bellaigue's research interests are mainly in the comparative social and cultural history of nineteenth-century Britain and France. She is interested in the history of education and childhood, the history of social mobility and in the interaction of gender with notions of national identity.

Social and cultural history of Britain and France in the nineteenth century, history of women, gender history, history of childhood and education.
