Modern and contemporary Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, African and Islamic history, especially Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco. The French empire in Africa. The Sahara. Nationalism, imperialism, history and critical theory.

Mediterranean, North African, and French colonial history (18th-20th cents.)
