Research Interests
Peter Carey works on the history, contemporary politics and socio-economic development of Southeast Asia, specialising on Indonesia, East Timor and Burma. He is currently researching an oral history of the Indonesian occupation of East Timor (1975-1999) and writing up a biography of Prince Dipanagara (1785-1855) for publication by the Koninklijk Instituut in Leiden.
