The Workshop
A workshop entitled 'Migration, Modernity and Religious Identity in Global Cities' was held at Wadham College, Oxford on 1-2 July, 2009. The purpose of this gathering was to draw together people from across the world working on themes related to migration and religious identity from different disciplinary and conceptual perspectives. This gathering of historians and sociologists of religion, urban geographers, theologians and migration policy-developers and practitioners debated methodologies and approaches and identified questions which will now be pursued in a volume of essays.
