Research Interests
Research interests include the transmission of texts in the middle ages; paleaography and historical bibliography; medieval libraries, and the provenance and survival of manuscripts.

- Director of the digital project, Medieval Libraries of Great Britain, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
- Editor of the British Academy series, Corpus of British Medieval Library Catalogues.
- General Editor for the series, British Writers of the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period. Editions, Translations, and Studies (published by the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies, Toronto).
