During Michaelmas Term 2002

Information held on the most frequently-borrowed items each term from the History Faculty Library is used to inform the overall collection development policy of the Library, and more specifically directs to a large extent the Library's purchasing of multiple copies of individual items.

This information is made more widely available as a means to inform Librarians of the Oxford University College Libraries, as well as Librarians of relevant collections throughout the Oxford University Library Services, of items in heaviest demand and the term during which that is the case, as well as for the benefit of interested users of the Library.

The following list provides details of the author, title, and date of publication of the most frequently-borrowed items. The first number at the beginning of the entry for each item indicates the number of borrowings, followed by the number (in brackets) of total copies and/or volumes for that item which are held in the History Faculty Library:
