Faculty and colleges view applications from students with disabilities on the same academic grounds as those from other candidates, but they find it helpful to know in advance about the nature of the student's disability so that they can offer advice on what facilities may be available. Oxford's extensive historical buildings mean that not every venue can be completely adapted to every special need, but it is always possible to find a college which can provide the right level of support, and where a need is known in advance to relocate lectures, seminars, and classes to venues which have wheelchair access, for instance.
